This #ThrowbackThursday, it's also National Regifting Day! Every year on the Thursday before Christmas, National Regifting Day is celebrated in honor of all those gifts that will be rewrapped and reused this holiday! In fact, apparently some 40% of office party gifts this time of year are repeat offenders! But in case you're not exactly cool with just rewrapping and regifting, we decided to come up with some ways you can use up unwanted gifts.
Click through for 8 actually awesome recycled gift ideas you can make with no shame!
1. Got extra unread books hanging around? Put that old well-meant present to good use as a DIY phone or iPod charging dock! Now that's a cool way to hide your charger in plain sight! Tutorial via The DIY Treatment.
2. We know you've got at least one extra pair of jeans. Transform that old pair of Levi's into a DIY no-sew denim headband! Perfect for a fashionista of any age! Tutorial via Zelika Chante.
3. Still got more jean scraps left? Make some adorable DIY hair bows and sew (or glue, you crafty crafter) on whatever embellishments you have lying around! They can even double as bow ties for your little gentleman or dog - how cute is that! Tutorial via Salute to Cute.
4. We've all received an unwanted ugly sweater. Make that sweater into something fabulous, like this DIY sweater pillow - no sewing machine needed! Everyone loves to snuggle up with pillows, so a couple of these will always be a welcome gift! Tutorial via PopSugar.
5. Too many wine bottles crowding your windowsill? (Maybe it's just me.) Upcycle any old bottles into DIY self-watering wine bottle planters! What a fun way to bring some life into a small space! Tutorial via FabArtDIY.
6. Tired of tripping over unused toys? Grab those figurines, marbles, LEGOs, or other old toy bits and spray-paint them in cool colors! Then you can make them into these awesome DIY gift boxes (or party favor boxes) and pack some cute little knickknacks inside - think hair ties, baubles, or even candy! Tutorial via Brit + Co.
7. Get rid of old, unwanted tees and make a new toy for Fido at the same time! Get your craft scissors out for this DIY T-shirt dog toy and just imagine the look on your pup's face when he receives it! (Just not while you're cutting.) Tutorial via BarkPost.
8. Received a skillet that just won't be able to take the place of your cast iron heirloom? You can also transform an old, tired skillet into this awesome chalkboard skillet kitchen art - finally, some cookware the kids are sure to love! Tutorial via Tattooed Martha.
