Cleaning is a chore I don’t look forward to, which is a problem because I like my home to be clean. I would say I have a problem on my hands, but I recently learned a few cleaning hacks that make the job a little easier to handle. I wouldn’t say I like cleaning, but if there’s a way to make it easier and faster, I’m in. Keep reading and gets your cleaning done faster, too!

1. Catch drips:

I hate when I pour from a bottle of olive oil, say, and the drip runs down the bottom, making the bottle greasy as well as the counter. Not happening anymore! Wrap a paper towel around the bottle and secure with a rubber band and those messy drips get absorbed by the paper towel.

2. Clean oven racks:

Use a dryer sheet to help you with this one! Soak the dirty racks in a tub or large sink with a dryer sheet for a few hours or overnight, then wipe.

3. Remove upholstery stains:

Spray on some shaving cream and blot. It should lift the stain away.

4. Shine wood:

Get your wood surfaces clean and shiny by rubbing with a beer dampened cloth.

5. Fix scratches on leather upholstery:

Apply shoe polish and buff with a soft cloth.

6. Clean the blender:

This is a job I hate because there are so many parts and that blade is sharp! Fill the blender halfway with warm water and a drop or two of dish soap and run the blender for a few seconds. Then just rinse.

7. Clean blinds:

Blinds get dusty and they’re a real pain to clean. Mix equal parts water and vinegar, put a sock on your hand, and use the vinegar mixture to wipe the blinds.

8. Clean and freshen the couch:

Sprinkle baking soda over the couch, let it sit a while, then vacuum.

9. Remove grease stains:

This was life changing for me- remove grease stains with some dish soap! Rub it in and then wash in the laundry.

10. Clean sneakers:

Get your sneakers looking like new again with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

11. Dry clothes faster:

When you’re doing laundry you just want to get it done! Help your clothes dry faster in the dryer by adding a dry towel to help absorb the moisture.

12. Clean the stovetop:

Sprinkle baking soda and water and let it sit for one hour before wiping.

13. Scratched dishes:

Wipe those scratches away by making a paste with baking soda and water, then buff.

14. Clean crayon off walls:

Every parent needs this one because you’ll be using it! Use windex and wipe away.
